Eddie Vedder is seemingly Nikki Sixx’s Public Enemy #1, Know What Happened

Eddie Vedder and Nikki Sixx are somewhat in the midst of a squabble, and it’s quite literally a battle of the bands.

Things got intense after Eddie Vedder called Mötley Crüe “vacuous” and said he “despised” the band during a recent interview.

Nikki Sixx has since fired back, calling Pearl Jam “boring”.

We unpack the whole thing…

Eddie Vedder slams Mötley Crüe

It appears as though there’s a rivalry going on.

In talks with the New York Times, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder took aim at Mötley Crüe when reflecting upon the 80s music scene.

Vedder shared: “You know, I used to work in San Diego loading gear at a club. I’d end up being at shows that I wouldn’t have chosen to go to — bands that monopolised late-’80s MTV. The metal bands that — I’m trying to be nice — I despised.

“Girls, Girls, Girls and Mötley Crüe: (expletive) you. I hated it. I hated how it made the fellas look. I hated how it made the women look. It felt so vacuous.”

The Pearl Jam member acknowledged that he didn’t hate all bands in that era, explaining: “Guns N’ Roses came out and, thank God, at least had some teeth.”

Nikki Sixx fires back after being slammed by Vedder

Eddie Vedder’s comments in the New York Times didn’t go unnoticed by Mötley Crüe, and Nikki Sixx soon fired back by calling Pearl Jam “boring”.

Taking to Twitter, Nikki posted: “Made me laugh today reading how much the singer in Pearl Jam hated @MotleyCrue. Now considering that they’re one of the most boring bands in history it’s kind of a compliment isn’t it? #TheStadiumTour #RocknRoll.”

The Mötley Crüe member wasn’t done there, either. When a fan said Pearl Jam’s music would make a baby fall to sleep, Sixx replied: “Or just sing to the baby with marbles In your mouth…Very zen.”

Vedder hasn’t responded to Sixx’s tweets, at the time of writing, so we can assume the whole ordeal has cooled down a little.

Nikki Sixx has defended the band before

Nikki Sixx really doesn’t let anyone talk ill about Mötley Crüe.

As reported by Planet Radio, Sixx called out Steel Panther for being “backstabbers” in 2019 after Michael Starr apparently made comments on Vince Neil.

With that being said, nothing seemed to have come from that ordeal and things appear to be okay now.
