Lata Mangeshkar has left a great musical legacy that future generations will treasure. On February 6, at the age of 92, the ‘Nightingale of India’ passed away.

She has sung approximately 50,000 songs in 20 Indian languages over her seven-decade career.

She has given the country a wide range of songs, from romantic to patriotic to cabaret, over the years.

‘Lag Ja Gaale,’ ‘Ajeeb dastan,’ and ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram,’ to name a few, are timeless successes.

Since the news of her death broke, social media has been swamped with people lamenting her death and discussing her remarkable career.

But do you know what Lata Mangeshkar’s most recent song was? She made an exception in 2018 for Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani’s wedding, recording a Gayatri Mantra and Ganesh Stuti as well as a special message for the newlyweds, which was played at the wedding ceremony.

She was unable to attend the wedding due to her terrible health at the time.

“It was the best I could do since I wasn’t healthy enough to attend the wedding,” she stated in a statement at the time.

I constantly send my warmest wishes to Isha and her husband Anand.”

However, in 2019, as an homage to the Indian Army, Lata Ji re-recorded the song that turned out to be her final recording – ‘Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti Ki,’ penned by Mayuresh Pai.

Yash Chopra’s ‘Veer-Zaara,’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, was her most recent full-length record, released in 2004.

Lata Mangeshkar died in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital at 8:12 a.m. on February 6.
